November 28 - Colts Game with my Sally Sal Roo Mono

A weekend with the Lazari! There is nothing better.

I went to the Colts game with my favorite Texan transplants. They didn't play so well but we had a fabulous time!

November 27 - On the Fly Vegan Food

Yummy vegetarian/vegan food that is also extremely reasonably priced. I had a rowdy burger that was a delicious black bean-ish veggie burger with a "tangy", as Lindsey said, sauce that included some sort of pickled root vegetable. DELICIOUS! It made being a (lapsing) vegetarian so wonderful. Also, you couldn't find more enjoyable dinner companions!

November 26 - Long Island Iced Tea

Long Island Iced Tea at Char Bar... the greatest beverage that has no actual tea but always includes tequila. A fabulous night with friends should always include tequila.

November 25 - Lindey's for Thanksgiving

Icy rain prevented our annual excursion to Philadelphia sooooo the Tully family (plus Kadia) headed out to Lindey's for a delicious, if non-traditional, Thanksgiving meal.

The most amazing thing about the evening? A nightcap at Bodega with HAPPY HOUR PRICES. Love.

November 24 - Short North Tavern Thanksgiving Eve

A pitcher of Columbus Brewing Co. Pale Ale, a frosted mug, a candle and lots of flannel. The joys of a Thanksgiving Eve celebration with the best friends in the world.

The most memorable quote:

"You don't get these pleats at GALYANS!"

I love my friends. They are amazing.

November 23 - Mirror Lake

To any Ohio State fan, jumping in Mirror Lake the week before the Michigan game is like a baptism. A baptism in the foulest water imaginable but a baptism nonetheless. I just watched and contemplated the rapid departure of my youth... Oh, to be 21 again.

November 18 - HARRY POTTER PREMIERE

One (compound) word: BUTTERBEER.

How, one might ask, does the adult version of Butterbeer taste? Well, dear reader, it is delicious but tastes exactly like a Buttery Nipple shot. Awkward.

November 20 - Zoo Lights

I took my students to see the Zoo Lights at the number #1 zoo in the country!

Things I took away from my trip to the zoo:

1) Repetitive behaviors that indicate stress and boredom are heartbreaking.

2) Manatees are not monogamous. Not even for a 3 minute span.

3) Polar bears go to bed before 8 pm.

November 19 - Otterbein Christmas Tree Lighting

For one day a year, I get to be a glorified babysitter and I secretly love it.

November 13 - Travis Comes to Town!

Travis Haiku:

my tan Cali love
my hand your thigh oh state game
stube wet broken glass

November 12 - Chelsea Handler

"There are two types of people I don't trust: Those who don't drink and those who collect stickers"

This is pretty much all you need to know about Chelsea Handler. A) She's pickled in Belevedere and B) She's incredibly offensive.

November 8 - Mill City Museum

Flour is more explosive than gunpowder.

One of many gems from my trip to the Mill City Museum in Minneapolis. The best feature was the evolution of Betty Crocker, a completely fabricated Martha Stewart type whose basic elements appealed to the everywoman housewife. Fascinating.

November 7 - Mall of America

Ok... So I failed at taking a picture every day. I'm trying to get back in the groove after a trip to Minneapolis, illness and general disregard for blogging...

So I traveled to Minneapolis and everyone asked if I planned to go to the Mall of America. A shrine to consumerism and everything wrong with America, I was extremely hesitant. However, curiosity won out and I spent 2 hours in the Mall.

The highlight of the trip was a ride on the Sponge Bob roller coaster. Granted, it was fun and thrilling in certain respects but the REAL highlight was the absolute scorn I received from the 11 and under crowd in line. Epic.
